Trip to Noccalula Falls

Our Sunday School class took a day
trip to Noccalula Falls. We had a great time and the
kids had a blast. We rode the train, saw the falls,
visited the animal habitat, played putt-putt, and enjoyed
a picnic.

My Principal

My principal agreed if we had 150 families attend Family Literacy Night she would dye her hair ocean blue (the students voted on this punishment). We had more than 150 families. Here she is with blue hair filling in our giant Swimmy. Thanks Mrs. Mc.

A Mess

HMMM! This looks interesting.
Carrington deciding she would check out the inside of the dishwasher.

Couldn't find Carrington... She snuck in the bathroom, crawled in the empty tub, and was playing with her toys. Don't turn your back for a second.
McKenna put her apple down for a second and guess who found it.... our human vacuum cleaner.

Sweet Treats!

Aunt Mel and Uncle Mike brought McKenna the biggest jar of cherries you ever did see. They remembered how much she loves cherries.
Our church sent McKenna a teddy bear and balloons. The Foundry (where my mom and dad go to church) sent her a get well cookie bouquet. We have such great friends and family. Thank you so much.

Visiting Sis in the Hospital

Nene and Carrington at the hosptial. Thank you Nana, Pawpaw, Pop, and Nene for keeping Carrington while we were in the hospital. I can not imagine having an 11 month old in that room with us especially me being paranoid about the germs, floor, etc. Of course, she wanted to be on that nasty floor. Yuck!!!
Smiles!!
We have learned the game "Where's your tongue?"
She can waaaa-waaaa-waaa too.

Trying to survive the Hosptial

McKenna talking on the phone to her friend Emma.
She had to tell her all the details. One funny...McKenna said "Emma do you know what they did to me?" Emma said, "What?" McKenna..."They took out my appendix." Emma...
What's that a germ?"
Finally eating and all smiles with hospital cheese pizza. McKenna enjoyed picking her meals. Especially having a choice for ice cream everytime.
Daddy and McKenna playing Noggin on daddy's laptop. Thank the Lord for wireless internet. It is not easy keeping a 5 year old entertained in a small hospital room.
Time to go home. Check out the before and after picture (very different). They still said it was more than likely not her appendix, but whatever it was it made her very sick. All better now! Thank you Lord, our friends, our church, and our family!!!!!!

One Sick Little Girl

McKenna right after surgery. She was in a nice sleep.

Showing the terrible IV and oxygen monitor.
Putting an IV in your baby is one of the worst
things I have had to witness as a mom. I thought
shots were bad.
Trying to go for a wagon ride. She was
very sore and scared to see her stitches.
Carrington came to visit. They both missed
each other so much. She couldn't quit giving
McKenna love. So sweet!!!!!!!!!!

We are in the Hospital

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that McKenna is in the hospital. We came in to the emergency room yesterday at 2:00. She was suffering from severe abdominal pains (screaming couldn't stand up pain). Her white blood count was very high which led them to believe that there was a bad infection some where in her body. After talking to 3 surgeons, 2 doctors, and a nurse practitioner they decided her pain must be related to her appendix. They took her to surgery around 8:00 and we were in a room by 10:30. She has rested today, went riding in a wagon, watched T.V., and visited with family. She seems to be feeling better minus the pain from the 3 incisions. The surgeon is baffled by the fact that the appendix actually looks really good. They have sent it off to pathology which will be back Tuesday. They now believe it could be a severe lower GI virus. So were are in a waiting game. The doctor said she must eat, drink, walk, and be out of pain before we can leave the hospital. Please pray for her. She is not interested in eating or drinking tonight, but wants to be home with Carrington and her cat. We will see her surgeon again in the morning and we are praying she says we can go home. I will keep you posted on the update. Thank you for the prayers and calls. Love You!!!

McKenna's Trip

Nana and Pawpaw took McKenna to Gatlinburg, TN for a few days. This was her Big Girl trip before she begins kindergarten in the fall. They went to Cade's Cove, The Black Bear Jamboree, Ripley's Aquarium, a Dinosaur Musuem and hiking in the mountains. They were very busy and McKenna talked about this trip for days. What great memories! Thanks Nana and Pawpaw.
